About Us

Yeshiva Eitz Chaim is a private, all-boys Jewish school, located in Chicago, Illinois.

​The Yeshiva provides both high school and post-secondary education to students from across the United States. We cater to students who seek an honors-level program in both religious and general education, as part of a growth-oriented community. Special emphasis is placed on ethics and character building which results in graduates of the highest moral standards. A world class faculty enables and empowers the students to maximize their years at the Yeshiva while ensuring that their physical, spiritual and emotional needs are met.

A Yeshiva campus along with dormitory facilities and other amenities provide both in-town and out-of-town students the opportunity to focus on their studies unhindered.

​The Yeshiva officially opened its doors in September 2019.

Rabbi Binyomin Meystel

Co-Founder and Dean

Rabbi Meystel is a Chicago native and an alumnus of the Talmudical Yeshiva of Philadelphia. He then joined Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, New Jersey where he eventually joined the faculty, leading an advanced group of students in a masters level program. During his 10 years in that role, the number of students in his cohort grew rapidly, affording him the unique opportunity to capture an audience of high-caliber students. His popular lectures are known for their clarity and depth. In addition, Binyomin has been delivering classes for the past 10 years to a group of college level students who have dedicated a portion of their summer vacation to intense Torah study.

Rabbi Tzvi Schnell

Co-Founder and Judaic Studies Principal

Rabbi Schnell was raised in Chicago and is an alumnus of the Philadelphia Yeshiva and of HaRav Avrohom Yehoshua Soloveitchik, Shlit"a in Jerusalem. After studying in the advanced learning program of Beth Medrash Govoha, he joined the faculty of Yeshiva Beis Meir, a college level yeshiva located in Lakewood, eventually becoming the Principal. In his over seven-year tenure, he carried a wide range of responsibilities, successfully connecting with and impacting students through his lectures and personal interaction. After returning to Chicago, Tzvi joined Yeshiva Tiferes Tzvi, where he worked extensively with the seventh and eighth grade boys, both in the classroom setting and individually. In addition, he has headed the popular 9th grade summer study program at Camp Agudah Midwest for the past 11 years. Under his leadership, this program enjoyed tremendous growth and has attracted boys from across the country.

Rabbi Yitzchak Lurie

General Education Principal

Rabbi Lurie, originally from Chicago, is an alumnus of the Mirrer Yeshiva Rabbinical College and Beis Midrash L'Horaah Toras Shlomo in Jerusalem. He received his degree in Education from the University of Illinois. Rabbi Lurie is an educational leader with a proven ability to assess educational status-quos and create systems to drive student achievement and happiness. He has taught hundreds of students from middle school to young adults and has inspired dozens of adults to self-assess and create a model for improvement. Yitzchak has served as an Instructional Coach and Curriculum Consultant for the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago since 2014 and prior to that was the Director of Education for Meor at Brown University and Northwestern University. Rabbi Lurie is also a trained relationship coach who has provided relationship support to over 100 young couples and individuals.
